Not much help but they took about 20 things from us and have given me no updates what so ever so honestly seems like you're getting alot more than they usually give.

I was told our case is low priority like it was supposed to make me feel better when I reality its just worse because it delays an already difficult time.

The phone might be what flagged the search so if that's clear they're probably just making assumptions (which they shouldn't in case) but hopefully if that's clear its a good sign.

Oh were about... 4 months in. Lost track of weeks because it feels like years and I'm all over the place. Edited to say... its been about 2 months... thats how long this has all felt lol

We're nearly 14 months in and our devices have only just been checked. They did find low levels on my husband's phone which we knew they would anyway as he admitted they was downloaded without him knowing. Unfortunately it's just a horrible waiting game that we can't rush even though our partners may be innocent.

I was left with 3 children and my husband couldn't be in family home without me supervising his every move, I know how draining it is, but youve got this we're all much stronger than we think.

Sending hugs to you

we too were told low priority and they had to check as he'd clicked on a link From a mega account so they have to check nothing else is there and the search history etc to be sure.

we're only one month in and it's horrible. One day I feel ok the next I just feel awful.

Feel so sorry for you after reading your story because I can sympathise.I was in your position at Christmas time. We had just had our first child and he was arrested after we came home from the hospital a few days later.

The police took away one mobile phone to be checked by forensics. He appeared at his bail hearing on Christmas Eve and was released on bail with conditions...one being no contact with under 16s.

After about 3 months of no communication on the investigation I phoned the officer in charge of the arrest. He had no info except the phone is in a queue to be checked but that these online crimes are low priority so get pushed back down the line if more important items need checked for bigger crimes.

Our solicitor contacted us in September saying he had the evidence back. So it took 9 months for one phone to be checked.

After that things have moved very fast. My husband had his plea hearing a week after we read the evidence with his solicitor and is being sentenced in 2 weeks. So 7 weeks in total from evidence sent to solicitor to being sentenced.

11 months in total from the arrest to sentencing, which we were told to expect from Stopitnow. Its a very long time to check one mobile phone.

I would also say to you to expect this process to take about a year. And having a newborn baby made no difference in our situation.

We are in Scotland. Hope this timeline helps a bit.

In my less charitable moments I reflect that as the police appear to have already made up their minds about guilt before they knock the door so they are in no hurry to expedite device checking for evidence. If it makes the accused and their family sweat for a bit longer, so much the better.

Sorry no advice just solidarity and love to you.

We are 17 months from the knock and devices seized and still absolutely nothing. I understand the agony of waiting xx
