I posted some time ago about the knock & how desperate I was feeling for me & the children. Yesterday evening I had a knock at the door & it was social services saying they wanted to gather information about their dad, what we do on supervised contact (bearing in mind the knock was July 2021 & social services have never got involved, I work in safeguarding & they were happy the children were low risk.)

They spoke to the children & said they are now putting an assessment together to go to a CAF meeting.

This morning the police have phoned their dad/my ex saying they want to meet him at 9.30am this morning, so now I'm guessing the police have made contact with social care & as a result they've panicked.

I'm just sat here so scared & it's brought all those emotions & fears back. It's been so long since the knock that we've found a new way of living & have been plodding along, now I feel everything is going to be blown apart. My son still is unaware, he's 10 with ASD so doesn't process information so well.

I don't know why I'm rambling but I feel so sad, upset, scared and fearful of the future. I will update later xx

Hi,

It sounds like a box ticking exercise for ss. It may be that the police have triggered ss but I'm not sure they would contact them before meeting with your ex so it could just be an unfortunate coincidence.

It sometimes catches me unaware how something so small can set me right back to the day of the knock. It may be worth looking at some counselling for yourself if you haven't already xxx

Hey Emerald,

It seems very odd that they would show up this far down the road. I would imagine perhaps this is due to new evidence found so hopefully the Police will explain. It's awful how they leave you in limbo for so long, it takes far too long! Please keep us updated.

Sending love xx

Hi Emerald,

Maybe this meeting is classed as a 'second interview' and devices have all been checked, and consequently police have contact SS to see if they had any update/input and they have contacted you to tick a box.

Please dont worry about SS, it is totally in your favour that they've not been involved for 18 months!

I haven't told my children who are similar age either (and not ASD). That's your personal choice. I stood my ground with SS over that one.

Give us an update when you get chance x
