Hi Daffodil,

Hope you don't mind me asking. My husband is under investigation for images. He's not been arrested, questioned or charged by police but has admitted to me and solicitor that he has images in some sort of cloud storage. Would that be seen as possession? Will that be a harsher sentence? Thank you xx

Not to add additional worry, but I have seen uploading to cloud storage also get distribution slapped on there as well. If that happens you definitely need to get the solictor to question that one, especially if no-one else has access to that cloud storage.

Hi,

Thank you both for your advice and help. It will sound stupid but i just thought it would be the same as viewing.have no idea why I thought this but sometimes in this situation I find it takes me a long time to process what is happening. It's awful that he had them stored somewhere. Thanks again

Sorry to piggyback on this post, but if images are saved on a cloud storage how do you go about accessing that cloud database again once devices are returned? Or do the police wipe iPhone cloud accounts and whatsapp chats too? Couldn't someone just log back into their Apple account on a new phone and access their old pictures?

My partner is on suspect for distribution cos of automatic shares to stuff like the cloud. It's really awful that the law is still not updated to current tech.

It's all very confusing. It's not WhatsApp or iCloud but something similar. Finding it difficult to get any information. Hope you are all doing ok

Hi ladies,

missed original post but making essentially means viewing. Terribly terminology.

Rachel, I agree with daffodil, I suspect it would be making and possession.

Lucy, I don't know the answer to your question but I'm sure the police have a way to deal with that, likely wiping it etc. The devices are always destroyed as was my partners after 'making' iioc, but I'm too scared to get him to log on to his iCloud. I have no idea why - he didn't save or send I suppose it just feels 'dirty' even though there are family photos on there which I want. Maybe in time I'll feel differently x

Hi Jay jay,

Thank you. There is family photos in this cloud too. It's very difficult to accept that they are mixed in with our family photos.
