So angry!!

Crown next week, my person has still not met his new solictor or barrister. Just been informed that our daughters statement is highly inappropriate and can't be put before a judge. I'm so angry that this system would rather a dishonest statement be tailored to suit a judge than a completely honest one written by an autistic adult be forwarded. Complete discrimination. I'm so angry, so stressed, so fearful and my person is gaming on his Switch aggghhhhhh
Did they say why the statement is inappropriate? Could your daughter edit it to make it acceptable? Did they make a reference to her being autistic as a reason they can't use it as if so that's despicable. And it's shocking they still haven't met your person yet

Lucy22 thank you for your reply.
The Paralegal didn't say but I would imagine it is due to her forthright and bluntly honest communication. It angers me that her authentic self isn't deemed as appropriate to the powers that be. The more I'm involved in 'the system' the more I'm starting to question everything.
Being autistic 'changing her words' wouldn't sit right with her.

I would contact the Paralegal to find out what parts of the Character Reference are inappropriate. Ask for their suggestions on how your daughter can get her thoughts/views across.
If it is solely the tone it has been written in (you said it was rather blunt) would it be acceptable to put a covering note explaining the tone of the letter is because of your daughter's autism and her expressing herself in this way is how she would express herself and how she sees the world? - Just a thought.
Could you put in your reference the impact it has had on your daughter and get around it that way, maybe?
I hope you get it sorted.

Thank you for your thoughts. My person spoke with his Solicitor and Barrister today by zoom. They suggested altering our daughters statement to provide a more appropriately worded one. I have done so as I feel her words need to be heard and not dismissed however edited they may be required to be to meet 'the powers that be. I feel 'the system' is broken but perhaps now isn't the time to be shouting and fighting. I want next week to be over, I want the best outcome we can obtain and I want to move on. I'm sick of it all. I'm sick of reading about a corrupt policing system, how there's one set of rules for them and one for everyone else, I'm sick of feeling like people wearing gowns and wigs are in positions of power where they are able to decide the fate of others in any way they chose but will only consider information presented in a socially acceptable manner. I guess I'm just sick of it all. Thank you for reading my rants and taking time to answer x
hi - I remember the feeling of wanting to kick the door and shouting to the world '".... off and leave me alone".
