The Solicitor has told me that because my person has relocated and now lives a long way away from the Magistrates court in his previous location he can attend the plea hearing via zoom rather than having to travel back.

Just wondering how this will work and if anyone has any experience of doing this ?

He has been told that attending virtually won't count against him and hopefully this is true.

My person had one hearing via zoom, I believe this was his plea hearing but I can't remember fully as it was a bit of a strange time for me. It was due to covid and he was remanded so different circumstances. It didn't go against him at all. He had a few delays due to the technology in the prison and at the court but when it worked it was fine xxx

My person did via zoom a few weeks ago. The whole court room was there, he said it was very surreal, charges read out, he pleaded guilty, whole thing lasted 15 minutes. Barrister, solicitors in court too.

Thanks for the answers it will be a bit strange I think but it means we don't have the additional stress of travelling to the Magistrates on top of everything else.

I'm assuming that my son will then go to the nearest police station to where he's now living to sign on the register
