Hi all, not posted in a while but just wanted to know if anyone had been told NFA and what for? Long shot but just clutching at straws right now ?? xx
Yes I'm in same position awaiting cps to decide what happens next. Our solicitor was given an opportunity to write to cps by police when they were putting their report together for cps to attest to my husbands previous good character and all the work he has done after being arrested to work on the porn addiction that put him this situation. I await to find out after the 35years of blood sweat and tears I put into having a comfortable future how much will be destroyed. If I sound slightly selfish and bitter about it, I certainly am WTF kind of idiot does this willingly to themselves. Maybe more people need to come forward and give their stories to act as a wake up call to everyone who is in ignorant bliss of what may just be around the corner for them. Will certainly be putting my experience down on paper when it's done and dusted. Would be so grateful to hear outcomes for others.
Hi, I understand what you say totally, I think my person has struggled in life since childhood trauma that we knew nothing about until he opened up to his counsellor after the knock and has opened up in little bits to me, his counsellor has confirmed the issues with alcohol etc stem from the trauma and this led him to where he ended up. He's in counselling and has unravelled why he's done the things he's done and he's told me that the person who did these things wasn't him. There's such a huge change in him since the Knock, change for the better, although initially he was saved twice from the train tracks ????. This is not all cut and dried as the people who have never been here think. My person is a better person now his demons have been unravelled and he understands himself better now but we're now fearing all the feelings from the knock resurfacing if he does get charged. I'm here unconditionally and I would walk this walk for him if I could ????????xx
My partner recieved NFA but it never went to CPS. They found nothing illegal on his devices. However, it looks like SS aren't treating it as NFA, as he admitted something to them in what he thought was answering an innocent question and doing the right thing, so for me, NFA doesn't really mean much as mine and my babies life is still in absolute turmoil. Sorry to not be more positive but I think it's important to be honest that NFA although positive from a legal/prosecution perspective isn't always an end to all of this.
Sorry to hear @pregnantandoverwhelmed you are still going through it. Understand you have to be so careful about what you say and to who. I hope you get through it soon. Can I ask the questions. 1. How long ago was he arrested. 2. What was he arrested for. 3. What evidence did police actually have. 4. What was the reason for no further action. 5. Was there anything your solicitor did to help to get the NFA oucome. We don't have kids so much less complicated in my situation can't imagine how devistating it can be to your family I haven't told a soul anything about what's happened waiting to find out what we are facing before I do we have no siblings and no contact with children in any of our social circles so again has been more straightforward for us than some. Thanks so grateful for real answers from people with experience of charging or no charging results and outcomes.
I have to be very careful not to disclose too much to identify us but partner was arrested for possession of prohibited images and nothing was found on his devices. It never went as far as CPS or further than the first police interview.
