Crown this morning for sentencing, we've collectively been dreading its arrival but also been willing it to be over whatever the result so we can start to move forwards without the darkness looming like some monster in the cupboard. Adjourned by Judge for a week as Probation report didn't arrive until 9.15 this morning and they wanted to ensure it was considered without rushing. Good news in one way as he's coming home but the continued stress is unbearable. Our adult daughter was hysterical last night having to say goodbye & I think I'm starting to run out of tears I've cried so much. Our knock was 17 months ago. This journey is torturous

The waiting is awful. Ours got delayed by a month, so we have Christmas to get through. I was so hoping to have it all sorted.

We have Crown next week and I have a gut feeling that it is going to be adjourned because the PSR won't be sent in time.

Having been through all the stress and horror of this nightmare I just want it to be over now and then we can move forward in whatever way we need to-Solicitor thinks most likely to be a Community order or suspended and is challenging one of the 2 charges as evidence is not solid to say the least...

As I've posted b4 my person's got delayed too because of psr, our barrister went mad as did the judge so it's court ordered by judge to be in by 29th Dec, next sentencing 5th Jan. We won't hold our breath...

Morning, can I ask, had the PSRs been completed and just not uploaded to the file for the judge to see (or whatever the they may do with it). Or had they not been completed at all?

Just getting worried as we are Wednesday and the PSR was done weeks n weeks ago but about 10 days ago when we had the final meeting with barrister he said it hadn't been uploaded yet so he couldn't see it.

My persons hasn't been done at all, hopefully yours will come through soon if it's already done, your barrister should be making sure this has happened so I'd contact them

My person's delay was for other reasons, but the the psr was only uploaded the day before the day sentencing was due to be heard. He'd had to chase for it to be done as he hadn't heard anything 3 weeks after pleading guilty, and it was done about 2 weeks before court date. I don't think it's unusual for it to be uploaded very close to the court date. But obviously depends on whether the appropriate people have had time to review it before the hearing.

In our case the PSR had to be chased on the morning of sentencing by the Barrister. It was uploaded at 9.15 and the judge thought it unfair to rush through reading it as he was due in front of her at 9.30.

We've heard from the Barrister today that the PSR hasn't been done so case will be adjourned after plea hearing at Crown this week and the application to get one of the charges dropped has been refused by the prosecution.

Feeling completely devastated now -although I was dreading it at least we would have known what we were facing and now it is being dragged out into next year .

Really scared about possible outcomes and if it results in a custodial I will take action so that I'm not here any longer.

Listen seaside have you any body to talk to, even your gp or helpline, you can also contact the samaritins or life line. I promise there is a life after this. You've did no crime so you shouldn't have to suffer. We definitely suffer the most. Please reach out to someone, it's just a bad time not a bad life. Xc

Seaside make sure you speak to someone. Call the helpline, or your GP if you don't have someone close you can share this with. You can survive this.

Seaside, You have friends on here and all of us have been on our knees when this happens to our family - it's crippling, it really is.

It feels like life will not get any better, but believe me you will get on those feet, you will stand strong and rebuild your life. It's a tough bumpy ride but your life reshapes.

like our friends say seek outside support, your life is so so very precious and important, it really is.

The biggest hug ever sent xxxx

Seaside. I can completely empathise with those frightening emotions. Early in this journey this was my train of thought. I echo the comments and thoughts of those who have already posted replies, please talk to someone. I have found medication to have calmed my thoughts. Sending you strength xx

We went through the whole 'goodbye morning' again today after sentencing was delayed due to a delayed PSR last week. He's just arrived at Crown to be met by...no one! He checked the list and couldn't see his name so clarified with the Court staff only to be told that it's delayed again until late January!! No contact from anyone. What an absolute sh*t show!!

The only positive we can take from this is we get Christmas & NY together despite the elephant still loitering in the room.

Sending you all love and strength xx

Ahhh goodness this is terrible. How cruel what on earth is his barrister playing at??? I hope all these incidents have been noted by them and the destress it's caused and put in front of the judge. That's what we did, they ordered everything to be with them for 29th no more delays xx
