Dear Overwhelmed,
So sorry to hear you've had the knock. You are probably going through a very difficult time right now, and you probably have more questions than answers.
The chances are, that if your person is currently working, they might let him work until you get a court date, It's like offering an automatic bail. It will take some time, maybe 10 months to a year before court and then might go next to CPS (Crown Prosecution Service). The lawyer representing your husband will let you know the process.
Hopefully you'll get more help here from people on this forum. Take care.
All the best,
SkinnyLatte

Many thanks for your reply,
Police said this will be dealt with very quickly and should more or less be over in February I am unsure if its a good sign or bad sign, I feel there is a lot of positives as reading on here there are lots who are not allowed to see there kids or even supervised visits, mu biggest niggle is have I got all the facts from him he promises I do but what if I don't, what if I am giving him this chance and there is more to come out of this?

Dear Inturmoil,
Sorry for getting the name mixed up with your post title earlier.
I know what you mean, when you get the knock early in the morning, it is just so
overwhelming... It's just awful and you don't know why they are knocking. I sent them
away saying they had the wrong property, then they produced a police badge and
asked to come in to speak with my son, I was totally livid, and thought to myself, what
has he done to have 6 people and the BBC crew at the door. It was shocking!
They go through everything and take all devices, I suppose you will find out the truth
from your person because the full charges will soon be written in the letter from his
solicitor. Barristers usually ask for 2 years probation and 100 hours community service.
And if he's lucky that's what he'll get. Usually these cases go to the CPS, Crown
Prosecution service, during the trial the Judge go through all the charges and decides
what it's gonna be. Better be prepared! Wishing you and your daughter well and I
hope you get honest answers from your person. He's going to need you!
Best wishes,

Hi Inturmoil,
First of all, welcome to the club no one wants to be part of.
As your person already know the charges, I advise to get a solicitor ASAP and start working on himself, ie, therapy or the programs in here. The solicitor can also advise on sentencing and if some charges can be dropped or not.
We can tell our experiences, but each case is different so strongly suggest to lawyer up.
As for the police, my experience is not of a swift process. They said that in 3 weeks all would be done with and that turned more than a year.
Hope things improve x
