Advice - is this confidential, easy to set up and use?

Easy to use and set up however definitely not confidential! My partner received some else's mail by accident (same surname). It's printed out and posted under door so assume that padmates can also read their messages.

I was wary of putting anything private in the message or anything about his offending but other than that it was a good way of getting messages through and sending photos (quality of printouts varied greatly between different prisons!) X

Hi Smile

Easy to set up x

We have had no issues at all , you can attach pictures but where my son is they only print in black and white

If you request a reply your son will be given a reply paper that he can write on and it is then scanned back to you

Like anything the officers check to make sure all is ok with the letter it is then put in an envelope with his name and number

This is quicker than posting and isn't that expensive

Xx

I find it easy and quick to set up.

There is an app you can use but it's temperamental so I use the website.

I log into the website. Send the email to my person. I get an email notification to my email to say its been sent, but you don't see the content of the email there. When they reply you get an email notification to say they've replied but you have to log into the website to see it.

My person has a kiosk in his room so they are sent directly to him. Sometimes they are instant other times there is a delay.

It's just nice if I feel a bit down I can Mail him and he'll hopefully get it sooner, I'm going to try and attach a photo....

thanks for the advice girls x

Hi Smile,

There should be 4 boxes at the bottom of your email that will say upload a picture , click and select then upload

If your doing it from your phone save the image of what you want to send and then you can upload from your phone ( hope that makes sense)xx

I didn't see this until just now otherwise would have said it was easy to set up and use but I've noticed not sure if others have that there usually isn't a reply on a weekend, also at the moment they have promo codes to use if you put a certain amount on your account, the promo part is just below where you write the amount you want to put in.

has anyone set up the telephone part or can a prisoner just call you? Because it says it's £9.99 to set up as a one off fee but not sure why I have to do that, I'm still a bit confused by it. My person can't remember my number so haven't sent it yet because still not sure if I can handle hearing his voice, but this information would be useful in case I decide to in the future Incase I do decide to actually hear his voice.

thank you anyone who knows x

I don't use the telephone service, you don't need to use it either to be in contact via phone. If you want to be able to talk to them, they'd need to get your number added to their PIN.

The service they advertise is one that makes calls to mobiles cheaper. Calls from prison are charged and mobile phones are quite expensive to make. I use an app called Prison Voicemail as its helpful for us both to leave messages for one another. But if we want to talk on the phone he calls my home phone, which I've diverted to my mobile - I pay my provider £2.50 a month for the call divert and I have a all inclusive minute bundle. We've found this setup works well and is cost effective.

That's good to know I set up phone a prisoner and while it saves my son money it can work out to be about £20 plus a month for me and once he reaches his minutes it costs a bit more

I only have to give a month notice so will enquire with my supplier to see if they offer this xx

It's definitely saved us a lot of money, we spend on average an hour a day on the phone. My all inclusive costs me £11 a month, so £13.50 a month on total, for the amount of time we spend on the phone it works out good value when comparing to other options.
