Hi I'm new my son was sentenced on 28 Nov this was his 2nd offence . I was absolutely heartbroken that he hadn't learned from his first offence and been let off really with no prison sentence but suspended , to go ahead and do it again. He has compromised where we live , we moved to get a fresh start and now it's been publicised and my neighbours have found out and the local website for the village knows also. My anger is no one ever thinks of us the parents the wives the children the innocent people and in making it all so public actually can put you at risk. The police force released it on their website and put our address albeit apart from the number of the house.

Surely we deserve anonymity or privacy how can they get away with doing this.

I'm actually petrified to go out , all my blinds, curtains are closed , every noise I hear I jump- I have ptsd as it stands and this is really affecting it... I hoe this place can offer me the information and help and jist an ear to listen to me .

My oh as also been put in media luckily only on one paper nothing so far on Facebook and other things. It's horrible. We luckily have no picture or address on the one reported but I'm still scared it will happen. It's been two weeks now and I still constantly check for more postings. I hope everything settles down for you nobody thinks of what us family members go through

I agree, the impact on innocent families is horrific. There are a few ladies on here trying to raise awareness of this through various different means, including contacting your local MP.

No other crime is treated like this. Even the vigilantes, in every other crime its strongly discouraged from taking the law into your own hands, yet vigilantes do this and are almost supported by the police. If I set up a trap for a would be burglar and called the police on them, its very unlikely anyone would ever pursue the crime.... They wouldn't even if it was a genuine burglary.

It's such a miss understood crime. Most people aren't attracted to children sexual and if they were, how would they ever seek help - There isn't support.

I can sympathise with your story.

I lived in a very small village when our local newspaper published my husbands case. 80% of what they reported was absolute poppy cock but the most damaging part was they released our entire address.... Number and all!!!! I wrote to the paper to try and hold them accountable. I had to sell my home, install security cameras etc, but their response basically put the blame on my husband for using that address in court!!

They have no regard for the family members left behind, trying hard to just get on with life as best we can.
