I have to write a character reference for my OH. I want to write a character reference for my OH.

My children are desperate to have him home, they miss him so much, as do I.

I'm concerned that if I put that in my character reference the authorities will read between the lines and think that my children have an inappropriate relationship with him, particularly my 17 year old daughter. She is not biologically his although he has raised her since she was 5. I don't want them to think that she has been groomed by him and been abused.

Any advise welcomed x

I hear exactly what you are saying. I have a 15vyear old daughter who isn't his and I panicked about this too. But it's just about who is was before. I stated in reference that although he hasn't seen my daughter since the arrest, I had no worries before of anything inappropriate. Just keep it short and straight to the pint. Kero emotions out. Probation rang me the other day asking if ss had called and I confirmed the case was closed. That's it. The way I look at it I'm just being honest and everyone deserves a fair trail. It's none of their business.

A reference is to state what a person was like before the knock, and what they have done since the knock and sentencing. You could maybe state how good a father figure they were and supportivw of you and your children.

Due to your daughter's age there will be little the judge can 'judge' on and the same SS as by the time she is 18 she is an adult. Myself partner has restrictions for under 16s for example
