Appeal set for next week

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year. Just wondering has anybody here went through the appeals process and had a successful outcome. So hubby was sentenced beginning of Novemeber and received a 30 month custodial. Serving 15 months in prison and 15 months on licence. The solicitor was shocked by a custodial sentence and appealed immediately. Hubby's appeal is being heard next week. Solicitor seems confident to get his sentence reduced because no mitigating factors were taken into consideration. Best case scenario would be hubby released on a community payback order with less time on the register. I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I feel like our whole future rests on this appeal. We have a small child who hasn't seen hubby since he was arrested a year ago due to bail conditions and now social services won't allow me to take our baby to see hubby for a bonding visit in prison. I'm at rock bottom with all of this.
I don't have and experience but I hope someone can offer some advice.
I'm so pleased you have an appeal date set and I really hope the sentence is adjusted - I remember your post when he was sentenced and remember thinking it seem disproportionate and not inline with other sentences.

No advice either but glad you've got a date. I didn't like to ask how it was going. Hope you get a good outcome xx

We had a successful appeal for a much shorter sentence. My ex hubby was released same day as the appeal was successful. Supervised (by me) visits were allowed the whole time from knock to imprisonment between him and our son so no advice re access to your children. The appeal was heard within a week of his imprisonment so we never got the chance to visit him in prison.
Sending you a lot of love... it must be so hard with a newborn. You are doing a wonderful job holding things together even when they feel like they are falling apart. It's barbaric that he isn't allowed to bond with his baby :(

No advice but pleased you have a date. I do think your husband was treated very harsh, please keep us updated and good luck x
I wish you the best for your husband's appeal. I remember how shocked I was when I read he got 30 months. This is ridiculously long especially if there's mitigating factors, which have to be taken into account according to the sentencing guidelines

An appeal is being made for my person who got a custodial unexpectedly last week. My heart goes out to you ChristmasChaos especially with a wee one to deal with. They'll be keeping you going no doubt.
