Hello lovelies.
So we are now 9 months past sentencing and slowly getting our heads around stuff etc. Moved house and new area etc.
No media worries thank god.
So we are interested in what kind of work others hubbys or O/H have mangered to get into.
Maybe looking into supermarkets or warehouse work.
Thank you darlings xx

Hi Chelsea,
My person has found a nights job at Asda. They don't ask about unspent convictions for certain roles. Good luck xxx

My husband was forced to resign from his job as he was arrested at work, it was just a warehouse job so was no risks to anyone. He has now just got a job and started training to be a lorry driver you don't need to do any cbs checks, all is going well so far.
My partner had a job in construction at the time of sentiand didn't need to tell them of his conviction. He then got a role at a small engineering firm. I would consider small businesses as many don't want to pay towards DBS checks, and not all of them ask about convictions.
Thank you darlings xx
Electronics and engineering jobs don't really background check.

Blackhound that's good to know. My husband is thinking of doing an Electrical Engineering degree after he is released from prison. He had been doing an I.T. degree with the Open University but with so many restrictions around the Internet we think maybe its better to study something else. His PO isint too keen on him working with computers as a future career either
Hi, my OH has started doing TakeNote which is an online transcribing service. So it's basically listening to audio/video files and and typing up the speech. There are different levels of files you can train on which mean you get more files to do and paid a bit more. It's not great money, but it can be done at anytime to suit yourself.
Take care all. Xx

Hi Christmas, I hope you are doing okay given the circumstances. I wondered how your person has contact with his PO? Will be remain under the same authority as he is currently in, in prison as he will be upon release? I ask because we are trying to understand a little more about what will happen when my person is released, where he'll be able to live etc.
Hi Sal hope you are keeping well. I'm actually not sure if PO is the right name. We are in Scotland and here they are called SOPU (Sexual Offender Policing Units). After hubby plead guilty and was awaiting sentencing 2 police women from SOPU called out to his flat. It was sort of like a welfare check and also a meeting about how hubby was doing, details about his offending behaviour, asked about his family, they checked his devices and asked things like where he worked and hobbies/interests...thats when hubby said he was doing an IT degree and they weren't too keen on the idea. They said he was fine living in that flat after sentencing because it wasn't facing a school or a park but he ended up getting a custodial sentence in the end. Now the flat is gone so I think the prison arrange accommodation for him on his release because he will be homeless and have no job. He can't live with myself and our daughter due to the crime and has nowhere else he can go unfortunately. I've found if you have any queries to phone the criminal justice social worker who would have met your partner and prepared the background reports for the judge and assessed their risk level.
Hi Chelsea!
My person is also doing the lorry driver training as it's being paid by the probation office.
He's got his theory test on the 6th of February, so fingers crossed!

Loobylou what did probation do about the computers and that?
This could suit my person perfectly but I can see probation being a pain...

Hi Green,
we were very upfront with both his offending manager (police) and PO. We explained exactly what it was. He is also doing an online proof reading qualification with an ultimate plan to do that as well. We told about both, and they were fine with it. He just must not delete his browser history or use igcognito mode on his browser. When the police and PO visit the police check his laptop and history. All my devices are password protected and he never uses them. His phone is not a smart phone. They see me as a protection against reoffending.
Hope this helps! Xx
