CPS Question..
Notifications OFF
Good afternoon ladies.. So I'm a bit confused. My sons case is currently with cps and when I asked the solicitor if the cps will take into account my sons age at time of offence, she said Yes they will. Now I'm wondering what that actually means? I thought cps just say charge them or don't charge them then it's up to the court to decide the punishment.
In another conversation I asked if he could just get a caution and she said definitely not... I'm so confused xxx

Hello Kt
This link to part of the CPS website may be of use to you.
https://www.cps.gov.uk/about-cps/how-we-make-our-decisions
Their decision to prosecute is not only on the evidence they have, but also on whether it is in the public's interest. It is under this part where they will take into account your son age and maturity at the time of the offence. I think the link explains it very well.
I hope this helps you a bit.

Hello Kt
Just thought I would add that the mental health charity ReThink has some good information/explanations around police/courts etc . I found their website good to look at when I was trying to understand everything that was happening regards police, courts etc as it was straightforward to get my head around. It may be helpful to you, the link is
