Early release from prison with a tag or without

We are in Scotland so maybe it's different here. I've seen a few posts about inmates possibly being released earlier from prison for good behaviour.
When my husband first went to prison he checked the kiosk and a message came up with 2 possible release dates. One was the expected time frame and the other would be released on a home tag 6 months early, it even gave the date. This was huge news to us so hubby checked immediately with his prison case worker and she said that it's an error on the kiosk. The kiosk doesn't know what inmates offences are, so every inmate can be released early for good behaviour except sexual offenders due to the strict restrictions when they are released on licence back into the community.
Does anyone have some more information regarding this?

Unfortunately this is what I understand to be the case, they can't be released early on tag. It'd be great to hear otherwise though.
I have seen on here some people are released on temporary license though, it means they can come home for days and sometimes nights. It's not offered in all prisons though.

Thanks for the response Sal. I suppose part of me is still wishful thinking. I've seen it mentioned here a few times and just wanted more advice xx
I'm the same. I keep hoping to see that glimmer of opportunity for him to be released earlier or at least days away from prison.
He's released 10 days before Christmas and I so desperately want us to spend it together. In a few weeks we'll be entering the later half of his sentence and a few months after that we hope we'll have more of an insight as to his release plan so we can focus on the future.

Sal that's so great he's released just before Christmas!!! Will he have somewhere to stay when he's released? My husband doesn't have anywhere he can go unfortunately. I found this Christmas hard but kept telling myself if the appeal was in any way successful he'd be released before Christmas 2023 and that's good enough for me xx
