Hi never thought I'd find myself here. So we had the knock in November and OH was placed on bail for 3 months he was allowed home even though we have a 10 year old son but no unsupervised contact with a child under 18. This has meant I've had to make so many sacrifices over the last 3 months. I totally believe my OH and want to support him through this process I ended up being signed off work for 7 weeks at the start am now on anti depressants.Very few people know and we want it stay that way due to the stigma attached. Safer lives have said category c images.

SS closed the case just before Christmas saying our son was in no danger, pending what happened this week in regards to re opening the case.

So OH due back at police station this week but just had call from solicitors who is sending g a letter with more detail but wanted to let him know he doesn't have to go to police station on wed his bail has been dropped and he is now released under investigation per CPS.

I know I shoukd take the positives but i don't know how to feel obviously this is less restrictive for me, but is this a good thing that CPS have done this?

Hi,

Unfortunately this may not be less restrictive for you I'm afraid. I don't think I'll ever understand why ss close cases whilst on bail or under investigation. They will expect you to still supervise at least until after sentencing in most cases. They probably won't have been sent all of the information as the case is still ongoing so unless they are satisfied that the risk to your son remains low for unsupervised contact (if for example the images were girls) then they are unlikely to agree to that. In terms of bail vs rui, bail means they have deadlines to meet so a pressure to examine devices but rui means they can get to it when they have less pressing cases to deal with. Sorry to be the bearer of potential bad news but I don't want you to have false hope either. Sending love xxx

You will still need to supervise they were happy with the arrangement you had in place. They don't normally look into unsupervised until after sentencing

Thanks for the replys and advice ill get clarity on it all.

My work have been amazing letting me work school hors only over the past 3 months but this isn't sustainable as my contract includes weekends and late night too! OH and myself have obviously shared childcare prior to the knock with his job being mon-fri. Need to get back to my contract working pattern soon and giving up my job is not an option.
