Hi all

I have always stood my ground with SS, made it clear that I do not want my OH offending disclosed to my children. He was sentenced last month, 6 months suspended for 2 year. I was told that our case would be referred to the legal team, this was apparently a formality so that the risk assessment costs could be authorised.

I've been told today that they are looking to take me to court to have my children removed because they don't think that I am protective enough.

Everything I have done has been to protect my children, every decision I make has my children's wellbeing at the centre of it.

I am absolutely heartbroken and scared.

I have no choice now but to disclose and hope that the trauma doesn't damage them too much.

I hate my OH for putting us through this.

Have you contacted a solicitor is your oh back at the home address? X

I will contact a solicitor. I have made it clear that we are hoping to get our family back but he has not been allowed home and only has supervised contact in the community.

There will be so many emotions, be kind to yourself.
Don't panic and breathe, this is the start of a long process and it can be your friend and used in your favour.
seeing the outcome, formal letters and what they have stated about you is the worst thing-but you know you are not that person.

Confused&worried, please don't worry. They can't remove children that quickly. Removing children is actually quite a lengthy process and they're not at risk of immediate harm. You're following a safety plan, you're husband is having supervised contact in the community.

I think SS are just trying to bully you, definitely seek legal advice

Childrens services will be trying to get you to agree with them around disclosing to your children, if they are insistent it maybe worth considering if there is a more age appropriate way in which this could be done rather than straight to the point although I don't know your children's ages on what might be useful.

Yes they will need to take it to legal team to get costs authorised but hopefully once they get this agreed the assessments can start and you will have an outcome of that they say hoping low risk and you can work towards being a family.

Have they mentioned to you about PLO public law Outine meeting? You can get legal aid at this point but good idea to get legal advice before also you can call the family rights action group for advice google them they have a forum which you may or may not find useful xx

I'm sorry to hear this :( I'm going through similar and it's soul destroying when you know you can protect your child. Remember that Social Services won't be in your life forever.

Is the SHPO internet based only? And if he's working with probation what's his current 'risk of serious harm' on his Oasys risk assessment?
