Specialist risk assessment

Hi
i wondered if anyone can share their experience of specialist risk assessments ... I have requested social services commission one from Lucy Faithfull but they say they prefer to do the assessment in house.
I feel that given the situation and complex mental health issues it is very important that the assessment is carried out by a specialist/expert. This will give the truest information to inform decisions going forward.
I'm struggling to make them understand this though! Any advice would be welcomed with how to put this across to them/or any right I have to insist on this

I think everything related to SS is a Postcode lottery. I had to get details from Lucy Faithfull for my SW, she couldn't even be bothered to look them up let alone do it in house.
It may be cost related, I know the expert one cost thousands.

I think it is true it is a lottery. Not all SW will or can do it in house. The LF assessment was first quoted to us as private assessment as 3k, a few years ago ...
But my partner is having one done ordered via the family courts and is a bit less money in total, tho split three ways as it covers three parties, him and his two children.
If you go for a private assessment you need to clarity on the scope and purpose. My partner has an assessment done ordered by the courts but scope was not clear and so was thrown out.
