Does anyway know if after sentencing the supervised access my son had to his children would carry on. We had a plan in place agreed with SS for nearly 2 years but my DIL has now stopped access for some reason. SS say we need to go through family court now to try to reinstate it. I'm just worried a judge would say because of the nature of his crime IIOC that he doesn't deserve access to them.

I'm sure if he's worked on himself and still had cobract and a good relationship with them during the limbo stage the judge might might hom supervised access. It depends on how you want to. Fight for them but it can happen. He can represent himself in court too to. Keep cost down. Just gather all proof etc.

My person's ex wife stop contact as soon as he was arrested. He is going through family courts ATM. Unfortunately SS were not involved until years later and so it is has been very tricky to get through the case.

But if your person had contact before sentencing and somewhat endorsed by SS then he should have a better case than my person.

Self representing is possible - but research is needed. We didn't know that a guardian was needed (legal representatives for the children) until years into the case ...

A risk assessment is most likely needed, so I recommend to have money saved up for this.
