My husband was arrested for looking at iioc and exchanged indecent images with others via email and an app. The police investigator who did the preliminary check on my husbands devices has said that it will definitely go to the Crown Court based on what he's already found. The devices are now with forensics and they haven't come back with the results yet.
The investigator told me he didn't find evidence of my husband communicating with a child or taking photos or videos of children, which I assume is the only definition of 'making images'. He found a large collection of images and videos across all three categories.
Can the police actually know for sure that it's going to the Crown Court before forensics have come back?

Hi,
"Making images" is downloading images. I seem to remember it might be different in Scotland but I'm not sure. Distribution cases tend to end up at crown court from what I've read on here. If you post in discussion and support you may get more responses xxx

I'm with Daffodil - you are more likely to get a better, more informed hearing in Crown Court so don't be panicked by it x
Thank you for your responses everyone, that's helpful. I will try not to panic x
