Hi, I could do with help and advice as I am so worried.

we had the knock 7 weeks ago saying my OH had sexual communication with an underage girl which we believe was the police.

he has admitted he was regularly chatting in chatiw whilst staying away with work.

he has said there wasn't many pictures sent but loads of chat on chatiw.

the police has taken his phone to examine and I'm worried sick, has anyone experienced a similar thing? Can the police read every chat from his browser history? Even if he regularly deleted it from his phone?

im thinking the worse case every day and my mental health is really bad.

It is a chat site that you only have to put a username, age and town.

My OH has said you can download an app but he never did only typed in google the website and spoke to people

i had a quick look at the site and it is horrible all types of people on there and it's quite scary the messages you get.

im just not sure if all the chats he had will have saved on his device with it not being an app and was through his browser?

I believe from researching it is similar to Chat avenue but I could be wrong

sorry I'm not very good at explaining.

He knows he has made a mistake and is getting help and has been really proactive and not been on the site again but I'm really anxious about what's going to happen.

thanks

Hi, Iv never heard of that chat site or come across it on here, but my husband was chatting on a app called kik to another man. We're 8 months in bailed twice and now Rui and we've still no idea what will happen, the oic will text my husband every now and then to make sure his still alive!! It's a horrible waiting game. Last time we heard anything they hadn't even started checking his phone.

I have read a few times about the kik app that if deleted and deactivated then the police can't get it back, but Iv also googled this and it says they can.

My ex was on Chatiw. It's just a normal chat website. You don't need an email address to sign up, just enter a name, age and location so fairly anonymous. I'd never heard of it until he was arrested and had no idea he was on it. I can't help with the evidence though, he made phone calls which is how they found him and he admitted it was him so charged straight away.

Also it was police decoys so they would have had the evidence anyway.

Thank you for reply's, he says he never set up an account on chatiw because you couldn't only through the app which he didn't download but he did speak to a couple of people on snap, Kik and wickr following on from his chats on chatiw

he has said he deleted the apps last year though and was only on chatiw so im also anxious about those even though the apps were deleted. He says there was a couple of pictures sent and received but he deleted but not many. So I am scared about what they will leave on his phone even though the apps were gone.

I really hope he hasn't got a lot.

From talking to him he says because he was working away he got lonely and his anxiety was really bad and it led him down this path which I'm trying to believe.

Also my OH was read out his chat from the site and snap so I'm guessing he will be charged for that regardless as they have the evidence ? His solicitor advised to to no comment in his interview which he did.

Id never even heard of kik until my husband was arrested for it I also found out he was bisexual and had cheated on me with men!! Which came as a massive shock.

He's told me he deactivated his account and has no interest, we have 2 children so I worry about it getting into the media!! It annoys me that they protect children that commit crimes but don't protect children whose parents have!!

My husband was on Chatiw, he has been RUI for communictions with a child aged under 13. The police found him as they received intelligence from a 3rd party (I'm assuming a decoy) I'm assuming they traced him through our IP address

No personal information is required, no need to register, just a name, age, gender, and local is need. Non of this information needs to be the truth so thats why it could be considered anonymous. I'm not sure how the police would gather evidence from devices but I'm assuming the devices are saving the chat logs in some way but I'm not 100% sure on this.

Hi. My OH was caught by a decoy using chatiw. It does t record conversations but pictures can be sent. Mine my OH was sent photos of underage children which he had deleted immediately he opened them. These could be found in his deleted history.

It took 8 months for the equipment to be analysed. Unfortunately it is a long process

Take care and chin up xxx
