Interesting and important reading! Thanks to LFF for influencing this.

Let's hope professional agencies including social services, police and probation take note and adapt policies and approach!

Thank you for this. The longer paper perfectly sums up the whole set of feelings I have had. This experience has opened up my eyes to a whole set of victims in society I never knew existed. I hope when I come through this I can do something to help others. Thank goodness for Lucy Faithfull at least

I woke up and read this sky article as well I thought it's great that theyre bringing this all to light, but I wish they'd also show that some of us wish to stay a family. Reading the children's statements breaks my heart, I worry so much about it getting out in the media my husband is yet to receive charges. My eldest daughter is in her first year at secondary school and is doing amazing at school, my youngest is currently waiting to be diagnosed with autism I really worry about the affects it'll have on them if this hits the media.

I agree Lee, it's not just partners, it's also mum's, dads, siblings - sometimes it's not possible to just walk away and leave them to deal with it ????. Feelings of guilt are immense and not just on the offender's part x

The article with quotes from children had me on the brink of tears. My OHs eldest is struggling at the moment to the point she needs sleep meds, and she isn't even a teen yet!

As far as we know she doesn't really know why he left, and I hope no one at her school gives her greif (maybe they notice her dad is absent?). I tempted to show my OH the article because for own sanity I want him to see accounts of the hurt he has done, by reading victim accounts. But I don't think it is a good time as he is very upset about hearing about his eldest meds situation.

I can't see how the suggestion to arrest when kids are not around....if young kids then they will most likely be there outside of school hours. And then offender at work (if working) in between those times. But how police handle the knock needs to handled better. I dont really have a solution...

The quotes from the children upset me the most, I told our sw that I was so worried about people finding out and my children being bullied at school she just dismissed it and said kids soon forget!!!

my husband was arrested at work the police did originally go to our home whilst we were all out and knocked all our neighbours doors trying to find him, then came back to our home later on when he was in custody and I was at home with my children. Since he was arrested at work he's work forced him to resign after being there for 16 years. I was really annoyed that they arrested him at work, when they were in my house they kept asking me if I'd ever watched hunted which really upset me.

I deleted them because I was worried I hadn't put any context and could be massively triggering to people. I can re-post but I don't want people to be upset x
