Hi, my dad has pleaded guilty to charges of viewing, downloading images (cat A-C) sharing 1 image and publishing an obscene article. I spoke to his solicitor and he described the images as being 'stock images' so not of my children. I've never had any reason to doubt him as a child or parent. When devices were seized 2 years ago, Social services said I didn't need to tell my ex as he wouldn't visit my dad and so the children would have no unsupervised contact. Now he has pleaded guilty, I've not let my children see him just so I can say to my ex I stopped contact when I was aware of the charges (the truth). Where would I stand in not telling my ex unless absolutely necessary? I've had no contact from social services since devices were seized. I would only allow supervised contact. I'm so confused.

I can only sumise that when your dad attends his probation meeting that's assuming he gets a community sentence, He will be asked if he has any contact with children and how this contact is managed eg supervised. They will likely refer this back to childrens services/ss and they will look on their system and see you have a safety plan in place and may call you just to confirm you are aware and to ensure you are happy to keep that plan in place. I doubt if this is the case that they would need to contact the ex

All local authorities work differently so it maybe different to the above x
