Has anyone here had therapy with StopSO? My husband is seeing a psychologist through StopSO and I know the also offer therapy to family members. Just wondered if anyone would recommend them.

I started therapy with a therapist who works with wives and partners of sex addicts but all she's done with me in two sessions is mindfulness and grounding exercises which I already know! We aren't talking through anything and I have a lot of trauma and pain to work through. Not many therapists will have dealt with families of sex offenders, so maybe StopSO is my best option?

I signed up to StopSo counseling and was assigned someone who mostly works with addicts. I have had a few sessions mostly talking about me and the impact. Next few sessions will be hearing from her on addiction to help me learn more and able to ask questions. I have read about iioc offending but it would be good for me to have one on one discussion. I would recommend the therapy and I can book as often and frequent as I like (when there is availability). It is good that it isn't a set amount of sessions tho it has been pricey for me. I might have to find someone cheaper in the long run

Thank you Lee 2.0 and majestictopaz, that's very helpful. I'm spiralling this weekend and desperately need to talk to a professional to work through this. I will check out the Bloom for Women website, thanks. I'm currently seeing a betrayal trauma therapist but she doesn't seem to want to talk through the situation with me. She looked horrified when I told her the details of what my husband has done and just wants to focus on techniques to cope with trauma. I feel I need to talk at length about the hell I'm living through with someone who is trained to understand and help me work through it. I feel I will explode if I don't get to talk about it soon.

Does anyone know if StopSO will do therapy via Zoom? They told my husband no and he has to travel 35 min to see his StopSO therapist. I have a 5 month old baby and it would be very difficult for my mum if I left him with her for ages while she is trying to work from home because I have to drive to therapy sessions. She's OK with 50 min while I have a Zoom call at her house.

StopSO haven't contacted me yet since I filled in the therapy request form, as it hasn't been 5 working days yet. So I just thought I would ask the question here. Also, how much do they tend to charge families for therapy?

It's very dependent on the therapist that you're matched up with.

Some therapists will work via zoom - my experience is via zoom.

The cost is also therapist and area dependant. You should get a phone call soon xx
