Im hoping for a bit of advice, so I requested an assessment from childrens services after sentancing for possibility of unsupervised contact moving forward unrestricted as previously 4years ago was allowed unsupervised but not for extended whatever that means? He was deemed no/low risk to his children.

now I have received the outcome of this assessment probation assessed him as medium risk (only been 2 months) but this is general not specific to his children. So even though children settled and happy childrens services stated they wouldn't recomend unsupervised contact but.. if I allow it they won't do anything about it??? So this is how they have closed the case

The SW came out once for 1 hour!

What do I do next? I don't feel this is satisfactory.

Any hints tips or questions I can ask? They also got the offence wrong and lol even my name was wrong!

So what happens if I withhold contact now I'm not really happy with him seeing the children if he's stated medium risk though 4 years they have left me like this! how will he know if this is changed in the future I'm fed up of this!
what happens if I die does he has PR so will it be fine for him to have the children full time? Or if I choose I don't want to care for the kids?

But in the assessment they never answered my actual question of what risk does he pose to my kids! They are just lax in thier assessment!

Yes I understand probation have him as medium risk in general but is he that much of a risk to his biological children!

I honestly feel like saying he's going to be the sole carer for the children and see if they will actually do a risk assessment! With someone who might get the offence correct and the sentence correct! And my name!

Who can I speak to advice regarding this as I feel I still don't have the information other than a copy and past statement of some shit!

Hi,

The tools probation and visor use to assess risk aren't actually great for assessing risk in general in my opinion. My person will always come out as medium risk on risk matrix due to static factors such as age at time of offending and length of offending. These are all given points and then added together to give a range (low, medium and high). These are things that cannot be changed. I don't believe that he poses a medium risk to our daughter. We aren't at the stage of funding an independent risk assessment but I would expect that to come back as no/low risk to her. For me I won't allow unsupervised until this is complete and she is old enough to have either done enough work around keeping herself safe or to know of his offences. He doesn't have pr but I intend to make a will and update as and when so it always reflects the most current information xxx

Thank you distressed and pregnant, I understand what you mean about the medium risk plus also I think well if they go down in the future that's due to the 'work' they are doing with probation!

Lee I agree it's a tick box exercise however let's get the boxes accurate! I agree they need to be held to account I'm not expecting a different outcome just if my children read it in the future what they read will be correct!

Thanks Daffodil, I will it's like they send you this shitogram in the post, with no right to reply no contact to clarify assumptions etc they had made! It's really getting to me how many errors are in it or information which is just assumed.
