Hi, my husband has his 4th court appearance tomorrow. After a delay in the forensic report this will be where he pleads. The solicitor has said that the crown will be going along the lines of that my husband is a "sexual deviant". My husband has not been charged with IIOC but has extreme porn found on an old Ipad. The report states that the images had been deleted and that an individual would need special tools , whatever that means, to access this. The solicitor feels they the crown are basically saying that because my husband these images that he would then move onto look at other things online and therefore should be placed on the register. Just wondering if anybody had any information on this. Even though it's a bank holiday fortunately we have a phone call with the solicitor later today. Thank you.

Hi Lee,

he's been charged civic government (Scotland) act 1982 S51A(1). Two images and nine videos. It's animals and adults (the humiliation of this is awful). Thank you for up your help. The solicitor also wants him to plead not guilty. That's something we want to ask about today as well. X

I'm interested in this- my ex has extreme porn but is accessible and more of it so your charges/ sentencing might give me an idea of what to expect. Will your person have restrictions potentially or is it just the SOR they are talking about? I also didn't think anything would be done if the material was inaccessible.

Hi everyone, just an update after speaking to the solicitor. Head is absolutely fried again. Still not sure how husband is pleading tomorrow however, probably not guilty. I'm not very good with technology but he made an interesting point. He said that on the forensic report that it states that the items were deleted and that basically for my husband to access them again he would need specialist tools and equipment it states on the report that he does not have any technology or apps on the iPad to be allow him to do this. The solicitor has said that they seem to agree that my husband wasn't deleting them to try and hide them to access them again. The one part of this is that he has said that if we proceed not guilty and he gets admonished then he would go on the register for 5 years. I think we are going ahead with not guilty tomorrow to allow us time for our own forensic report. Head is fried. Thank you for all the help and support xx

Admonished? Like a caution do you mean because they can't prove he ever actually looked.... 5 years on SOR for that your solicitor thinks? Sending you best woshes- the Walt must be awful. How ong has it been since it all started?x

The solicitor said that apparently because of the rise of cases like this that's what they are doing now. It all started in March 2020. It seems so strange to say that in some ways it feels like yesterday and other ways so much time has passed it's hard to believe we are two years down the line. Hope you are doing ok. Xx

Hi Lee,

So I think here in Scotland admonished means like a warning but you still get 5 years on the register. (Seems very unfair) My husband would probably loose his job if he went onto the register. It's always good to hear that there is life after this xx

At work he goes into schools, hospitals, care homes places like that. He has worked with the same company for 30 years but he has always felt that he would have to leave. We have actually asked for this in writing from the solicitor just via an email about the admonishment as I just can't try my head around it. xx

Good luck today. So if the stuff was ever there it still counts? That bumps up the count for my ex significantly then. He had hidden it so I didn't find it too. All comes under threat to life as far as I can tell. Unless he's lying obviously and there's more. Do lots of work places have issues with the SOR or is it only if there's contact with vulnerable people or children? Trying to think through practical implications for kids and I later down the line.

Hi, thank you all for the support and kind comments. Suprisingly it went better today than I thought. The judge gave the crown into trouble as they weren't prepared. My husband is part of a new scheme at the court to get thing moving along faster however the judge said to the crown today they were the reason it wasn't working so we both enjoyed that bit. Next court date isn't until July. Head is fried as had to go Straight to work afterwards but overall feeling better. We are now going to be getting a forensic report done. I really mean when I say thank you all for the support. xx
