Hi all, after reading some posts I have decided to post myself I am in a really similar situation as a lot of women on here, OH arrested for possession of iocc, he had told me he had been sent them in group chats & had deleted them all, police have seized his iPhone (relatively new maybe 12 or 13) & we are waiting on forensics. What will the police find if he has deleted it? I have done extensive research & I have read online that when a photo or file is deleted it is not truely deleted but then I have read other posts of how when you delete something on a modern phone it is gone forever as the encryption key is also deleted. Please can anyone who has been in a similar situation (where OH has been arrested & has deleted everything & denied all accusations) discuss what happend after forensics. Will the police actually find the deleted content ? If so what will happend after

Hello,

I'm so sorry you are here. I have also read that these things are never really deleted but I think if they are sent on an app (group chat) they are gone after 30 days, again something I have read.

I been on this journey for 17 months now because of a group sending links, the difference is, my partner who is not a regular snapchat user, never deleted them from the snaps folder, they were in among 100's of legal material. He is pleading guilty because of this.

I know that this is not helpful for your particular question, but if your OH has deleted them, then they either will not be found at all OR if anything is found then forensics will see that they have been (and when they have been) deleted.

Still there, yes, but in terms of going forward, a much better position to be in than ours. I know if my partner had deleted them then we would feel we were in a better position to fight it and plead not guilty.

But, maybe someone with more knowledge than me could confirm/correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sorry to see you here but glad that you have reached out to the forum. Every feeling you are having is completely valid and absolutely normal under the circumstances and it's incredibly hard to not allow your worries about what may or may not be found consume you. This is something out of your control and the process of forensics can also be incredibly long, the constant worry can have an adverse effect on your well-being if you allow it to. Many of us have found that what our people initially tell us later turns out to not be true so keeping an open mind is also important until you are faced with the facts and can make decisions based on them. Reach out whenever you need. We are all here and understand this journey completely.
