Whyus, I know all too well those feelings of resentment. I have also come to learn that nobody (and I mean NOBODY) can tell you how to act. Unless they’ve been in the exact same position as you, they’ve no idea what they would do and are not qualified to tell you what to do. Prior to this, I would have told someone in my position to do X, Y and Z but it’s not clear cut when there are feelings involved.

You must do what is right for you and the children. You’re in this situation through no fault of your own and you’ve lost enough already, so you must do what is needed to allow you to retain as much as you can and to build a future for you and your children.

It sounds like you’re being an amazing mum and are taking steps to protect your children. Do what feels right to you and that will be the right thing.
