Court this week

Hi all,
Not sure what I'm after here but just posting to say that my person is due in crown court on Wednesday morning for sentencing.
He's been charged with 1 video extreme porn and 4 images Cat A. No internet history, all downloaded on one day from one chat.
I am a bag of nerves already. I will be going with him as nobody else can but he does have the support of his family. I've never been in court before and only have what I see on Tele to go by! Is that what it's like? Any advice? Will I know the media is there when I get there or do they watch online? Do I need to wear anything particular? Any advice for avoiding possible photo opportunities on the way out? (If he comes out).
I really don't think he will go inside, but you just have no idea do you?! He had a job at the time of the offence that would make a potential juicy story or chance to make an example. So many of you wonderful women would've thought the same as me before it happened and now they're locked up. :(
I'll be on my own tomorrow night so probably will leave this post and check it tomorrow night and hopefully your comments might help whilst I'm waiting xxx
Love to you all xx

Hi,
I wish you good luck in court xx I won't go to court (once he's charged), because I'm scared of journalists taking my photo.
I think you should arrive early at the courthouse and not walk inside with him. When you leave, leave separately again and don't leave straight away. This way you minimise the risk of a photo being snapped of you outside xx

I can imagine your anxiety is going through the roof, but this stage ad you know needs to happen and hopefully the outcome will be ok x
As for the court its open to the public , I went to court with my son , please try to focus on one main thing while you are in there, I stared at the crown Crest on the wall behind the judge, be prepared that the prosecution will be extremely unpleasant, wear what ever you feel comfortable in , I wore black jeans and a jacket,
As for the media I didn't see any in the court, it was only myself, our barrister, the man from the prosecution and the OIC, then a couple of people from the court, but ours still hit the media, but it is hit and miss so hopefully yours will not be reported
Some have said after sentancing for your other half to stay in the toilet, or get a drink from the vending machine and wait inside for a bit maybe bring a change of jacket for him and a cap for when you leave court, and if anyone calls out his name not to react
Sending strength and hugs and wishing you both a kind outcome xx

No need to wear anything special, I wore jeans as did husband.
Court at sentencing was quite a large courtroom but his previous appearance which was a cancelled sentencing, was in a much smaller courtroom so hard to know. Court ushers were lovely, very kind,
Be prepared. It's hard going.
Journalist was viewing online for ours. No media actually at court and no photographers thankfully. But a very detailed article was published online later that day, which was sensationalised.
We arrived separately as we're not together. We did leave together after he'd spoken to probation. I'm not sure why I waited for him as at that point I couldn't actually speak to him. (He hadn't been open and honest about offence).
I'll be thinking of you. And fingers crossed for a good outcome. My husband got a suspended sentence (his was communication).

Slightly controversial... my son wore a suit. Barrister said one of the best things he could have done as showed respect for the court?

Sending you love and strength. Everyone is behind you xx
I should have said when I said we wore jeans, we did look smart. You don't want to look like you've been dragged off the streets but believe me they see all sorts in court. Law is a peculiar profession, it's much more formal than any other I know. Very few people wear suits for anything these days and H and I are both in professional roles. I would say wear what you feel comfortable in.

Sending you lots of strength for today.
Good luck today sweet heart . It's an emotional day . I didn't go to court as I couldn't handle any more and I seen evidence and everything so he didn't want to put me through anymore.i wish I had now because court really damaged him .more than either of us anticipated . Xx
Fingers crossed for a positive outcome today, thinking about you x

Keeping my fingers crossed for a good outcome for you
Newlady, don't beat yourself up. Court might have damage you if you'd attended. Be where you are now. I'm realising I'm spending too much time looking at the past and being fearful of an unknown future. It's not good for me.
