I've been listening to a lot of prison related podcast. Whilst they anger me in someways as they often seperate our people our from the main prison population and very clear to not want to associated with that crime. They also help me feel less alone, hearing other people's experience of the system.

I've specifically sought out other podcast or episodes within wider podcasts that talk about these crimes in a more constructive way and it made me think that we all have stories to tell. It would be a find line, would need to be really well considered, a good presenter and balanced from all angles, with guest experts - But I think could be comforting to others that follow behind us to listen to, educating for those that don't understand the crimes or consequences particularly on innocent families, a place to tell our story and perhaps (said very hopefully) put a spot light on the impact of families and the growing problem.

The nature of these crimes means we hide away and don't want to draw attention to ourselves.

I'm not sure what I'm suggesting as such. There is such lack of awareness of this crime, particularly on innocent families I think it would be helpful for our stories to be out there - There are radio programs and publications that it would fit into their format / journalism style.

@SAL what a fantastic idea

I've been listening to Banged Up. I do occasionally nod off and wake up during the next episode which is particularly confusing lol

@Lee how fantastic! Such an invaluable resource for others facing this journey.

Fantastic Lee, I'd really love to help support people working on things in the background. I'm struggling a bit with work, life, prison, mental health quite a bit at the moment, but I hope that I'll have the headspace to help. I work for a SME so my skills are wide and varied and like learning.

I've been listening to Banged Up too, I quite like the slightly more light hearted tone it has and it's been a point of conversation for my partner and I ( as in there are more things I can ask him about that I wasn't aware of).

Other podcasts I've listened to are below:

- The secret life of prisons (set up by Prison Radio)

- A bit of a stretch

- Bird

- Life after prison (Set up by Prison Radio)

- Prison Bag

These are the more specific episodes in wider podcasts that I've listened to.

These two are on a podcast about sex and physiology

This one is on a podcasts about considering things from the more mainstream views.

What I like about a lot or the formats is the different view points, professional input and the gentle nature of them. The spoken word is much easier to interpret the tone than the written.

Thank Lee. You and the other women that are doing things to raise awareness and support others in this situation are an inspiration.

What is the twitter handle please?
