Hi Paula

I haven’t done the course yet, I’m booked in for a preliminary call next week. You need to call the helpline and they’ll give you further details. It begins with a phone call lasting appx 45 mins that they book you in for and goes on from there. I hope this is at least a bit helpful and I’m sure another member of our amazing community will post that has already done it. Massive hugs xx

Hi Helen, and all, thanks for asking about the Inform course. You can find out more about it here: https://www.lucyfaithfull.org.uk/inform.htm

The first step is to call the Stop it Now! Helpline on 0808 1000 900. Lines are open from 9.00am - 9.00pm (Mon-Thurs) and 9.00am - 5.00pm on Fridays. The lines can get busy so I can't promise that you'll get through straight away, but I'm sure you will if you try calling a couple of times or so. We are recruiting more staff so that we can operate more lines in the coming weeks.

I hope that helps for now. Thanks again for your query - and for using this forum.

Hi Paula.

I have completed the Inform course and would highly recommend it. I felt so relieved to be able to talk to someone openly and honestly about what was happening. Each time we spoke, she treated me with great patience and had so much useful information to give me. The most important thing I learnt was not to make a 'knee jerk' reaction.

If you have any more questions, just let me know.

With best wishes, CMB.

Hi Paula. Yes, I have done the 'Inform' course and I would definitely recommend it. I arrived for the first session feeling apprehensive, but within minutes this evaporated. The other partners on the course were incredible people and there was an instant feeling of connection and release from talking to people in exactly the same situation. One of the worst things about this crime is the shame and secrecy, and to be able to talk honestly and without judgment was amazing. We keep in touch and hope to meet up for ongoing support. The course is run by two Lucy Faithfull staff who give so much information to help you understand why people offend in this way, and also explain the practicalities of the legal system etc. If you can get on a course you should do it!

In the meantime keep posing on the Forum. There is a whole community of partners out there wanting to share and reassure - this is not something you have to go through alone. Keep stong, Sophie X
