Has anyone any experience of requesting a change of bail conditions at the pre-charge stage when there's a valid reason for that and a lot of thought given to safeguarding issues?

The official Gov document on bail suggests that you can ask. Does it ever happen? Would it be best to get a solicitor to ask?

Or is it a hopeless cause?

(Sorry to be vague about specific details, just hoping someone has a story to tell to encourage or discourage us from going any further)

Hi, we had our solicitor ask for bail restrictions to be changed and the police refused. We had a holiday booked for November that had been booked since before covid, they refused and wouldn't allow it. Our solicitor said we could take them to court to request it but it was very expensive so we didn't bother.

I was going to go on the holiday without him then 4 weeks before the holiday his bail was coming up again and he was Rui so that ment they couldn't stop him.

his bail was renewed twice before he was Rui.

Yes, I got bail changed after one month.

initially he wasn't allowed to contact me but after about six weeks as I asked for this to be changed and the OIC changed it for me.
