Sorry to jump on your post rainyday52 . This is one of my fears that they just turn up to do a random check( not that we're not sticking to the conditions of the bail order ) my question is ... my persons pre-charge bail conditions don't allow him to sleep overnight where anyone under 18 resides. Therefore that is why he's not able to live at home . If my child (17!) was not in residence , say he was staying with a friend or relative would my person then be able to spend the night with me as there would not be anyone under 18 in the house ? It's all so confusing but as you've said if we raise these questions with the authorities we run the risk of stirring the pot !

Hey Rainy,

I really wanted to have a look into this for you but I'm only making a flying visit and my brain is pretty cooked today! It sounds like she is being an absolute witch and I hope you've logged and evidence her interactions. I'm not sure how bail checks would happen but I would think they would need some kind of reasonable suspicion to do one. I would go back to her and ask under what grounds does she feel a bail check would be necessary in line with PACE and the Police code of ethics considering this is now the second threat she has made when both yourself and your son have been nothing but compliant. I would also ask what a bail check entails from her mouth.

Hope you get it sorted xx

Not sure whether they may be any helpful info in this;

Hi. I've not read all responses so sorry if I say something already said.

Our OIC usually gives my person warning he's coming, we've never had the local police do it. My person also moved out because I have kids here so they can't just show up at mine as its nothing to do with him if that makes sense. Although I'm sure if they wanted to they could push on this.

I hate that I can't see the post when I reply because I've forgotten what else you wrote.

I hope it manages to get sorted, oh, if you are concerned maybe mention to the police you want non uniform ones.

I did read someone say about going through solicitors and sw and sometimes this can he tedious but sometimes it's better as the police seem to like pushing back when they're questioned (from our experience).

Our oic basically told us that things are implied In the bail conditions as they can't write every word so you really are doing the right thing checking. It's to keep kids safe but ultimately to keep your person safe from accusations or them getting into situations that could make things worse.
