I always find anything like this hard to watch.......

Just watched and a lot of it has hit home, controlling behaviour, deception, blaming others (victims) for his actions.
I'd love to have a conversation with her mom

I ended up watching most of this documentary...... what an extremely brave lady. I was hoping her dad would show remorse when contacted - but no he was still on his selfish mode which shook me a little.
I also felt so sad for her family. It's such a blow when you discover these double lives as we all know, I don't think you ever get over it.
A thought provoking watch.....

I watch it with my partner. He wasn't sure if he wanted to watch or not. For me I ask he considers to hear from victims and the impact to their life.
What I found most compelling is the fact the victim said she put on a brave smiley face, that she will nervous laugh as a coping mechanism. She needed to act like that to protect and somewjat cope with what was happening to her. And unfortunately because she did well at school, wasn't a 'problem' child no one suspected the abuse she was going through.
I cant believe the excuses he was quoted to have said! But I have heard that offenders can blame the victim, or say along the lines they didn't fight back, they instigated the abuse, they seemed to enjoy it...what I don't the offenders consider is that victims are masking. Some offenders fool themselves that children enjoy the abuse! Desensitized etc.
I hope the documentary helps give victims confidence and those who are or are considering abusing to think again and get help.
The documentary was focused on contact offending, it wasn't clear if he abused others but was suspected.
I felt so sorry for the woman when she was told he would not meet her. You can see the disappointment in her face...I think him refusing is a form of final control he has, he won't give her closure.

I watched this, she was so incredibly strong and courageous.
It's been on my mind a lot and involuntary keeps popping into my head, as does my partners offence and it's exacerbated my feelings of angry towards my partner.
All those poor children that have and are suffering.
