I haven't posted on here for a while, but heard some news today and I just don't know what to do..

The knock was last March still waiting to be charged.

I had a swift assessment and following this, just because I believe my husbands narrative, they have concerns about how protective I could be. Social Services have just rung and because of this they are going to child protection conference.

she's coming round later to explain it all, but right now I just don't know what to think. They can't take my girl away can they?

Hi,

I'm sorry that you are in this situation. Ss don't look to remove children that aren't in immediate danger in their opinion. A child protection conference isn't to remove a child but to establish what things should be put in place to minimise risk. Have they discussed safety plans with you and is the only reason for the escalation to child protection because you are believing your husband? What does contact look like at the moment and what do you want it to be like moving forward? It's ok to want contact and also to keep your family together but it's important to put things in place to protect your daughter from the perceived risk. Depending on how old she is there are things that you can do with her like pants work from NSPCC, I also talk to my daughter about the importance of knocking on bedroom and bathroom doors as these are private spaces where people could be undressed. I have two older children who live with us so it's a good opportunity to teach her how to respect others space and what she should expect in terms of privacy as she gains more independence in her personal care.
I hope that your meeting with the sw goes well and that you get all the information about the conference that you need. The discussion and support section on here gets the most attention so it may be worth posting on their. Try to relax a little and take notes so you are able to refer back to them xxx

Thank you for the reply. I think that because I've just about had enough of this now and it's worn me down, I just see the worst of everything. X
