Hi everyone

I have my first meeting with a Social Worker tomorrow and am just wondering what I can expect from it?

My situation is a little different in that my (now ex)boyfriend offended and was arrested before we got together. About a year into the relationship, he told me everything and I ended it. However, I did stay in touch over the phone as he was suicidal and I still ?are about him. I have a 10yo daughter but she never met him.

When the police found out I was still in contact with him, they reported me to Social Services and informed my employer. I’m devasted as I had no idea just being in touch with him over the phone could bring my position as a mother into question.

I have a meeting with a social worker tomorrow and am very anxious about it. I have cut contact with my ex but feel angry that I have been forced to do that when there was no harm in our communication.

Any advice would be appreciated x

I hope your meeting with social services goes ok today. The police have a duty to pass on information to safeguard children, I'm sure social services will just want to chat with you about the situation today. Remember all they are doing is making sure your child is safe, I always think ifvtgeres nothing to hide be totally honest. Its hard to cut someone you care about off totally, I hope the police spoke to you about the danger he might pose to your child as they informed your employer and referred it to social services.
