Anybody is same situation?

Family member caught talking to a 12year old but a police decoy? What sentence did they get? He's been charged and awaiting sentence, solicitor says it could be 70/30 that he goes prison being 30%, we don't know much of conversations he won't really say, we know a family members as had a police call as they have children, social workers will ring about exactly what rules are, I know it's still b ad but don't know what extent and you dont get SOR for nothing??

Hi. My OH was trapped in the same way. It was a 1st offence. He had 3 conversations over a 5 day period and he walked away from the conversation. We got numerous character statements and he also did the Lucy Faithful course. The pre sentence report proposed a non custodial sentence but regrettably this wasnt to be the case. He received a 4yr custodial sentence which seems so harsh . We are only 97 days into the sentence . You may get a more lenient judge, I do hope so. I don't wish my situation on anyone. Xx

3 communication charges , he got 3 years probation (one for each very short chat ) 5 years sor and shpo. He got a fair judge to be honest she took a weekend to think about it . He did lots of work with lff and his therapist so and rang help line every week. this was definitely the reason he didn't go to prison as the judge told him that .at end of the day it all comes down to judge and how good the barrister is . Xx

My person's offence was significantly less than Newlady describes. First offence of any kind. In seven months between arrest and sentencing, while working full time, he completed two well regarded 1-2-1 learning courses (20 hours), had specialist therapy, had record of calling the LFF helpline more than 30 times, 4 character references, wrote letter to judge, pre-sentencing report recommended community order. Got three years in prison. Lifetime SOR, not sure on length of SHPO. No mitigating circumstances were taken into consideration, or the potential harm to others of his sentence. It seems such a lottery.

He's not good with telling us what's happening all the story, All we know is he's been charged with communication with child he gets sentenced this month, he is now on SOR register and I think the prevention order as people with children in family are having calls from social workers after sentencing this has been about 2years in total.

This is so frightening that our people are at the mercy of the capricious decisions of the judge. Did't they go to trial with a jury...not that that might have produced a more lenient result?
