Why do all my comments have to go for moderation? Do everyone's? In means sometimes I don't get response for ages. Not complaining, just asking.

Hi

It's because you haven't posted much. I think once you've posted about 10 messages, the moderators lift the restriction.

Yes it took a while for my posts on threads to appear - I began to worry I was being inappropriate without realising it!! I expect it's something to do with keeping the forum as safe as possible as anyone can read it but actually posting on threads is more open to being abused, perhaps (just guessing!) Or maybe the moderators are just very busy as more and more people engage with the website.

It is in the rules of the forum

New users' posts are automatically placed under moderation before they appear on the forum. This means that when they post for the first time, their post will not show on the forum until it has been checked by a moderator.'

It does not state the number of posts though so not sure when it stops.

Dear Forum Users,

As some of you have mentioned, we follow a moderation process for all new users. This is nothing to be concerned about, it is simply a safety measure we take to ensure that every user is here for the right reasons and there are no malicious intentions. How long a user is on moderation can vary as it depends how much detail they share in their initial posts. Typically, after 3 or 4 posts/replies, and no concerns have arisen, a user's moderation status is lifted.

We hope this helps provide some clarity, if you have any further questions, please feel free to reply or contact us on: forum@lucyfaithfull.org.uk

Take care,

Lucy
