My husband was filmed online by a vigilante group. They came to our house as they couldn't coax him to meet outside.
My husband was an alcoholic and was massaging someone who he thought was underage but it was someone from this group.
I'm not condoning what my husband has done and we have moved out of the property and still awaiting to hear from the police.
I am not a fool and I believe when my husband says it was words and he wouldn't of done anything.
Our friends (some who have children) have been amazing and really supportive because they know he is not like that and could see how lockdown affected his mental health.
Until yesterday, things was calm but my husband heard a couple talk about him in a pub. We were in a completely different area and they clearly had seen the video posted on Facebook.
This has now made me scared to leave the house. It feels like it's never going to go away. It's got to a point where I'm feeling suicidal as I don't know how much more I can take.
The police haven't been very helpful and don't seem in any hurry to sort this situation out. The mental and emotional stress this group has caused is unbelievable. They should not be allowed to post on any social media and the police should do more to stop this.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and what was the final outcome?

Vigilanties here too, extremely distressing for myself (and kids in my case). Couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, can't go out for fear of being spoken about in any capacity or people asking how did you not know etc.

keep your chin up, you have done nothing wrong and you don't deserve this, also please seek medical attention, dark thoughts being there is one thing but doing something is another. Please don't do anything to harm yourself in any way, don't let the vigilantes win xxx
