Thought it might be a good idea if we discuss books, fiction or non fiction that have helped us through this journey. I have read this week The Marlow Murder Club, it was well written but a silly story but it kept me from thinking about my awful life for a few hours. I am now reading Death Comes to Marlow.

I have watched Whats Love got to do with it? A lovely feel good film. This i hope will give us all ideas what to watch or read while navigating our new lives. Watching also A spy among friends, though i find this heavy going.

what is everyone reading or watching or listening to?

What a great thread!

Listening to The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes on Audible, and reading the trio of books by Sarah Harrison (The Flowers of the Field etc) which is a family saga across many years, a bit like Downton Abbey, on my Kindle.

For fun, listening to Michael and Hilary Whitehall's podcast.

TV - just watched The Traitors Australia on BBC IPlayer, (load of enjoyable rubbish!) but.......the best surprise is getting a subscription to Acorn TV (originally to watch The Miniaturist as I have the follow up book on Kindle and couldn't remember the plot) and discovering lots of really good TV dramas from the UK and other countries.

I've just binge watched, on Acorn, Season 1 of a drama from Australia called Love Me, all about a family in the aftermath of their mum's death (bit sad but absolutely heart warming too) And there's a Season 2 so that will be my guilty pleasure when the grandkids go home.

Currently reading Insomnia by Sarah Pinsborough ( appropriate title) but another 3 of my reserved online library books have all become available together meaning I have 4 books to finish in 21 days . However will I get any work done ?!! :)

Netflix ... Binge watching the last 2 series of Bridgeton whilst eagerly waiting for series 3 . Been recommended The Deepest Breath so trying to pluck up the courage to watch that later ( I don't like sea/deep water swimming ) . Any other suggestions?( not police based) xx

Living this nightmare, there is another series which I have not watched yet, Queen Charlotte which is a brigerton story. Do you like spy? There is Jack Ryan which i enjoyed but it is about CIA. I have watched Desperate Housewives. Still making my way through all of the series as i needed a break from it. But this got me through the time of the Knock.

I like action films, so i have watched all the Mission Impossible films then went to the cinema to see the latest one. I also like the fast and furious films.

Is Insomnia good? I like a thriller.....Another good story, though i preferred the book to the film is Gone Girl.

Rainyday52 I have never heard of Acorn tv. Will have a look

Bluesky there is nothing wrong with romantic stories. If it takes you to a new world then it is good for you.

Great idea! :)

I totally lost my reading mojo after the knock but I'm enjoying Thrown by Sara Cox at the moment.

I also love a daft phone game - I'm working my way through one called Boo! right now - you have to make pumpkin designs! It's very distracting!

I will have a look out for these books. I have just discovered a second hand book shop very close to me. I currenly have 10 books waiting for reading. The books are only 50p and the most expensive £1.50. Its cheaper than getting books on kindle. And after i have finished i can give them back for the charity to sell again. Win win.

My sister has watched Queen charlotte and she said it was good. I am waiting for when i need it, ie when i am feeling very down.

I'm currently reading "Barefoot Britain" by Anna McNuff on my Kindle. It's a factual recount of her running barefoot (as the name suggests) around Britian. The trials and tribulations of such an adventure. I love reading books about running. Not that I'm intending to follow her idea. I'm keeping my trainers firmly connected to my feet!

I have some hardbacks lined up: one is a murder mystery by the Rev Cole and the other is abouth Ronnie O'Sullivan the snooker player. But I'm saving these for if and when I ever get a holiday to read by the pool

I love a good quiz on the tele so we're often on Challenge TV.

Hi, I've finished reading After You by JoJo Moyes (the sequel to Me Before You)

I have been watching Leverage (which is about a group of con artists that help people, it's like Hustle but American) and Hudson and Rex (about a cop who has a dog for a partner).

Saturday night is film night with my daughter. Tonight we're watching Inside Out (she's 15 but we still like watching these films). We're eating ice creams and refresher sweets and trying to keep the guinea pigs in line while they are downstairs having a wander. x

Love this

I am on child flicks. Don't get the chance to read a lot though as it is busy but I wouldn't swap it. We came back from a few days away and the girls missed their grandad so much and the pet lamb and new calves which they helped deliver and the chickens...

tomorrow we are getting a pony... so won't be much reading here.

other than stable management eek!

I love to read or listen to books on audible. Anything by Liane Moriarty is great, love Jodi Picoult and if any of you want a good laugh but with serious under tones Marian Keyes is amazing. I've read Rachel's holiday more times than I care to remember, it's so good. Also for a good laugh, the pod cast ' my therapist ghosted me' is brilliant I've also read so many self help books which helped get me through the long lonely days. Theres too many to mention but if anyone would like some recommendations please feel free to message me xx

I'm reading Anne Tyler - Spool of Blue Thread at the moment and have just finished watching Deadloch on Amazon Prime. It's amazing - very very funny, very crude and very clever. Highly recommend it if you're not easily offended!

Nemesis - a lot of stable chores going on here too; I've just come back from a lovely ride. Mucking out is possibly the best therapy!
