2nd interview - what happens?

Hi. My OH got the knock six months ago when they found one underage image on Dropbox and a Kik fantasy conversation about abusing an underage child. We had one bail review after three months (he can't have unsupervised contact with our son). And he is due another review. However this time they are doing another formal interview. I know they have started to go through his phone but doubt they have got to his laptop yet. Does this second interview mean they are ready to charge him? Or is a second interview quite common at a second bail review? I'm already worrying! We have separated but have anxiety for my son. Can't bear this constant worry and still so angry at what he has put us through. He keeps saying its "just" late night fantasy chat but I don't trust him
Our son has just had a bail renewal but recently was invited for a second interview, and he was told beforehand that it was about another type of offence from his original arrest and what it was. We weren't sure if it was to charge him for this new offence though. It took ages for the police to find an agreeable date with his solicitor so I was full of anxiety for days, and because he lives a long way from the arresting force now, we were told by the solicitor that calling it an interview was to save police resources ie rather than arresting him involving time and travel for the police he would have pay for it all himself, but if he'd declined they would probably have then arrested him. He was cautioned before the interview but instead of the original arrest interview where he was completely self disclosing and now regrets it, he gave a 'no comment' interview this time. Afterwards he said that at first the OIC asked him to confirm some facts eg his wife's name and children's ages but made errors which he thinks were a ploy to get him to actually answer/correct the mistakes - then possibly have his guard down. That may not be true but he was wise to the tricks that the police play and stuck to the 'no comments'. He was in the interview room for about 20 minutes and then came back home. 600 mile round trip for 20 mins of saying nothing! The worst bit about a second interview is the fear that we will discover that our person hasn't told us the whole truth and we are about to find out something terrible, but in our case we knew what it was about beforehand.
Thanks both. My gut says to me that there will be more than he has admitted to me. He is a compulsive liar so I am living in total anxiety about this interview. If it was really bad wouldnt they just arrest him now? Its the waiting that I hate! In a way I was hopijg for more time for us to adjust to this whole nightmare before any arrests. We put our house on the market in September and thats enough stress in one month! I just don't know how much stress I can continue to take
Anxious - I think 'inviting for an interview' instead of arresting is simply to save police time and resources plus because it sounds like a friendly chat the person being interviewed may well be more likely to open up and say more or even self-incriminate.
Lee - I'm beginning to get very cross with the police for assuming we're all so gullible. Their tactics aren't even very sophisticated!
