Talking to Child Services - concerns
Notifications OFF
Hi all,
A Family assessment was begun a year ago then closed before it was complete as I decided to leave my then partner. He has since had his caution (10 Cat C), and have completed one of the recommended courses, had and is still in therapy, kept in touch with LFF etc. We are looking at moving forwards together but I have a young daughter (not his). Child services want to reopen my file.
The other day - before they officlally opened my file - I was asked on the phone if I knew what the images were of. I was at work so told her was inappropriate for me to answer at te time.
I also did a Subject Access Request on my notes from my orginal assessment, and saw notes from a previous phone call where I called in to ask for an update and I was asked the same question. Because I had no idea at the time who I was talking to, I was cautious with my answer, and it has been recorded to show poorly against me. Suggests he hasn't told me the truth, that I said the word 'only' when discussing the images etc. I was at the time not going to just spill the info to the first perosn who asked when I had no idea who they were, and his investigation wasn't complete either.
Just wondering what I should do if this happens again? The caution doesn't decribe the images, but I know what they were, but also I have to protect myself and my child and not put us in a tougher poition than is necessary with child services. I could describe an image that wasn't within the caution as it was dismissed as over 18 for example.
Any advice? Do I even have to answer this question?

Do they have the descriptions of what the original investigation was over, or what the actual results where? The original number was higher than what he was ultimately cautioned for, with the rest being duplicates and being over 18 and therefore adults. Unless this is exactly what I tell them. I don't think anyone knows the nature of the final 10, only that they were Cat C.
Thanks Lee. I am not sure but I will ask. I just don't wish to describe something that was actually on one of adult images.

Yes! Exactly that! I dont think we have any up-to-date details on the 10. I will try to find out though.
