Counselling for me

Two weeks since my partner's arrest. I've left him and the home we shared. Reeling from shock and desperately needing some therapy. I have friends who are very supportive but need professional objective help. I had researched, found a great woman who specialises in trauma, had a consultation online and agreed to work together. After the first session, which was amazing, she sent a rather blunt message saying that she and her supervisor decided that the problem was 'too complex' and it would be best for me to see someone in person. I'm so upset. This was my first step towards my new life and I've been let down. Please, does anyone have any suggestions?
One of the advisors on the help line told me how to find a therapist specialising in this area from the counselling directory. Apologies but I can't remember what specific information to input, but give them a ring and hopefully somebody can help. I don't travel to her, it's all done via zoom, but with her being so knowledgeable about this trauma it has been a lifeline for me.
Stop so counsellors specialise in this area, you fill out the form online and they refer you. It can take a while and may be quicker to call

Karina make an urgent appointment with your GP, they will arrange or signpost you to the most appropriate MH service, if you don't want to share any information at this stage do what I did and say you have been traumatised by an incident involving the police which you don't wish to discuss atm, I made it clear to my GP I was not the cause of the incident. You only have to share what you are comfortable with, I did eventually tell my GP everything and she was brilliant in getting me the right help and support whilst being empathetic and totally non judgmental at the same time. I have had a full and extended course of CBT followed by counselling and antidepressant therapy too. Xx
