It's almost like reality has kicked in, we are still awaiting the expert report so I don't get why they are doing the trial

My husbands trial is this week too. I hope everything goes well for you and get the best possible outcome.

Unfortunately everyone's outcome is difffent as no case is 100% the same even if they were likely judges have different thinking. Your barrister should have given you some insight into likely outcomes based on your case. However even if found guilty at trial doesn't mean automatic custody it maybe at sentancing.
if you are waiting for things to come back it maybe it gets adjourned my person turned up for trial 5 times before it actually went ahead this year (3.5 years after the knock) his independent report was not allowed to be used I'm not sure why though!
Not saying it to worry you just to prepare you it might not happen.

if its his first time offense then it is unlikely to be in immediate custody. I've seen people do much worse and get a community order. Hope the best for you, don't expect him going to jail, its unlikely unless he has done something like this before.

If the solicitor has advised a not guilty plea then they must think he has a strong defence. If he has proof that the images were deleted immediately and there was no evidence of him searching for anything dodgy, then the jury may well be convinced that it was accidental.

My son had never been in trouble with the law before this.... the judge did not take this into account and he was still given a heavy sentence.
