Has anyone who's going through this been in rented accommodation? I love where I live, but there's a condition in the Tenancy Agreement which states someone can be liable for eviction if they've committed a serious offence at the property. We're joint tenants. He's supposedly moving out, but I have no idea when.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi julie

joints tenants here and that exact same clause terrified me immediately after the knock four months ago. He can't live here and I am hoping from October I will be a single tenant. I can understand how scary and anxious this is for you.

Deedee86, how did you get him out of your place? There's no children in the house, so he's taking his time looking for somewhere to go.

Hi Julie

It was easy for me as I have children so he wasn't allowed to return he and he had no choice but to leave. He is on the joint tenancy for another couple of months and I am hoping to renew in just my name.

I must say that housing and affordability and panicking about them finding out was one of the biggest stresses for me. I thought everything was going to happen reallly quickly but on the inform course they say a tough timeline is to allow up to two years from knock to court.... I just don't want to still be here or if it goes to court and I am, for him to be stated as living at my area/my street!

Is it possible for you to both exit your tenancy in the near future and you find somewhere to live on your own so you are not linked?

(side note - so devestated as I sold my own house and relocated my kids away from their dad to start a new life with him in this house and area and he's messed it all up!)
