Hi. This is my first post so bear with me and I'm sorry if this has been covered before.

I've stayed with my OH through his proceedings. He will be sentenced in a few weeks. We are expecting a community order fingers crossed then hopefully we can both move forward.

This may sound silly but I'm confused and concerned about the offender management side of things like what the police will do after he's sentenced.

He's told me he will have something put on his phone to monitor his activities. I think this is a positive because it'll put my mind at rest a bit. Do I get to find out if he's breached any rules? What software do they put on and what does it track/stop? How often do they come round and check or does it like ping something with the offender management team?

Hi,

My OH has the monitoring software and we had a surprise welfare visit due to a search OH had done when we were discussing a statistic on a bbc documentary around suicide. The monitoring software alerted the police that he had searched suicide and they came round to check up on him. We were really shocked and embarrassed!

Each SHPO is different but usually it includes notifying if you are away from your home address for more than 7 days, going abroad, registering new forms of IDsuch as a new credit or debit card etc.
