I feel like Iv had such a tough week full of so many emotions up and down, full of anxiety and anger. We're still waiting on my partners phone to be checked 13 months waiting!!
his case becoming public is something that really affects my anxiety, we have 2 children 10 and 12. Youngest has autism. I really wish children in this would be protected from the media, I worry about how it'll affect their friendships at school. The oic told my husband that there's stuff they can do to stop his photo and that being released but I think that's a load of rubbish.

The Oic in my husbands case said they wouldn't give the press his photo and they didn't unfortunately for us a new vigilant group had just started up in my area and I think an ex friend shared his picture that's how my hubby's photo got out but that was on the online vigilant group ( the shared the local papers report and in the comments they shared his picture ) if that makes sense.
Our eldest was suicidal at the time, not related to wat her dad had done, but he said when their is children involved they try not to give the papers a pic. Well that's wat happened for us, he was really nice xx

I think all of us could have wrote your post 'AlwaysHopeful' - word for word. It's horrible being in a world where no one understands and yes this forum has been a saviour.
I watched an interesting video on U tube last night. Made by a guy who had worked with sex offenders for many years. He explained the definition of a P (a label we all hate) and a child sex offender - both so very different. This ought to be made a public's information film!!!!!
It's heinous what families have to go though, we need support, love and understanding not fingers pointing, media hounds or vigilantes groups. None of this whipped up hate is going to protect our children in the long run and isn't that what we ALL want? And meanwhile the offender numbers dramatically rise and the tax payers bill goes up as our prisons are bursting with sex offenders. So many first time offenders like my boy...
