Contact following prison sentence

Hello,
I appreciate that experiences vary wildly but can any please talk me through the process you went through after your other half came out of prison in regards to contact with their child? What did social care instigate? How soon were you able to live in the same house again (if at all?). Did you find them hostile or did you feel they were working with you?
im trying to gain an understanding of the process - being prepared makes me feel more in control and less anxious, I'd like to know the range of what I can expect.
thanks in advance

Hi lovely's
In my experience, my OH was allowed supervised contact with our boys before he was sentenced and sent to prison. Just before release, SS got in touch again because after sentencing they normally do a reassessment, which they did do for us. So my boys couldn't see their dad until this assessment was done and a plan was put into place. The new plan was pretty much the same as the old one. Unlimited contact but supervised and no over night stays, but with unsupervised contact in the community. Now we're working on trying to get my OH back home again and it's proving very challenging because of restrictions on the SHPO. But we will get there as in the end. It's very different for everyone, but this is my experience. I hope it helps. If I can help further I am here.

Thank you Blue82.
To he honest I'll just be grateful to be able to see him more regularly when he is released, so I can stomach no unsupervised contact and him having to live elsewhere for a while.
I am hopeful that getting him
home won't be too challenging...there is nothing on his SHPO about contact and it was a non contact offence. We will see though.
thanks again

Hi wildflower
it's a really tough time, and it can be challenging when they're released. Having said that everything eventually settles down. Can I ask how long he got? My OH was in for 9 months. His offence was non contact but they still restricted contact with children on his SPHO. With him not having that on his, it should make things easier. If you ever need any advice your can PM me.
take care hun
