Hi,

Does anyone know if the number shows on your landline when police ring? Or does it show as "Withheld" or "Private"? Also, if you have an answer fone on your landline would the police leave a message or just keep calling until sometime answers??

xx

Hi Bettyboo65

For a little while the oic would call me from a mobile number (but my oh was in hospital for 3 months at the time). Since being home recovering the officer switched to landline which did show up as Private number.

I switched my answerphone off (mainly for cold callers not to think an 'answer' was made). X

Thanks for responding, we've had 3 missed "Withheld" numbers over the past day and no message left, surely if it was the police they would leave a message for my person to call them?.

Just frustrating the worrying if it is the police and we keep missing the call, although they haven't emailed or called my person on his mobile so maybe not the police and we're worrying for nothing xx

Yes it could be someone else (scammers maybe), if they have your mobile numbers I would like to think that they would try those if so persistent.

I find that GP surgeries/counselling services come through as Private too.

It's a time that inevitably makes you hyper sensitive and on high alert.

Very unnerving times for sure. The number is Withheld and not Private, like when you withhold your own number.

We just feel like we're living on our nerves right now as it's 2 years since the knock, 2 years of merely eating, sleeping and trying to trudge through each day! It's terrible how these offences are dealt with and handled xxx
