Think of 3-5 positive things about the person and give an example of when they have shown this trait.
(I haven't written one yet for the case, but this is the basics for when I write references professionally)

Hi JD2021, can I just ask what your husband has been arrested for?
My husband has been arrested for indecent images in July 2022.
We're still waiting for the forensic report.
Like your husband, he also had a bad duty solicitor who just advised him to admit to everything as the police will find every single picture anyway, even if deleted.
I had no idea they could charge, even with no physical evidence :(

Hi I have the same problem as you my husband was arrested after police raided our home 1.5 years ago we are still awaiting the out come
I won't repeat what's needed in the character reference as Lee has already done this.
What I wanted to say was that my person met with the duty solicitor before being interviewed by the police and was advised to tell the police what he had told the duty solicitor which he did. The judge made a point of acknowledging this during sentencing and said how rare it was to find someone who was willing to admit what he'd done at the earliest opportunity as many people wait to see what the evidence is before they admit their offence. It might seem like wrong advice from the duty solicitors but maybe they know what's best in the long term.
